Optimist Essay Contest
The contest is designed to give young people an opportunity to express their own opinions regarding the world in which they live.
In addition to developing skills for critical thinking and written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a scholarship.
In additional to developing skills for written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a college scholarship!
The guidelines require that contestants be under the age of 18 as of October 1, 2017 and attending school in the United States, Canada, or the Caribbean.

The contest is open to students who are 18 years and younger as of October 1, 2018, who have not yet graduated from high school.
Entries should be between 700 and 800 words in the format specified in the contest rules.
The District-level scholarships are funded by the Optimist International Foundations.
This event is sponsored by Optimist International, and it awards scholarships to high school students.
