An interdisciplinary study plan of 36 credit hours (15 required, 9 ID electives, and 12 general electives) needs to be completed for graduation.Elective courses may be taken in other departments and colleges at the University of Houston as needed.The developments in students’ preferences are well in line with NTNU’s and the department’s research strategy, and reflect the broadness and relevance of design throughout society.The Master of Science Degree in Industrial Design is a two-year curriculum committed to design innovation, research, and commercialization.We strive to place our graduates in top firms and maintain a diverse and high profile advisory board with expertise in high technology, transportation, and furniture design.Our department works hard to increase exposure to the design and business community by participating in and sponsoring high-profile events and workshops.The MA program provides professional study within focused fields of physical design.In addition to classroom and collaborative coursework, each student develops a professional portfolio that will be used to launch a career in Industrial Design.

Graduate studies courses hone the graduate student's mastery of industrial design research, materials and processes, developmental drawing, 3D model-making, and construction practices.
Graduate students will work on independent and group projects under technical and creative guidance of our prestigious faculty of professional industrial designers.
