Creative Writing Prompts High School

Anyone can earn credit-by-exam regardless of age or education level.

Try writing a piece in which characters from different books you've read for school interact with each other. Imagine a new holiday, with unique rituals and traditions, and a group of people who celebrate it.

Don't plan your story prior to creating the list!

Students must write one of each list item (light, object, sound and place) on a slip of paper, and then place each in separately marked boxes on your desk.

Not all reluctant writers resist writing for the same reason.

Some struggle with fine-motor coordination or pencil grip, making the physical act of writing painful and disheartening.
