Architectural Thesis On Old Age Home
In the Holy city of Puttaparthi and its environs, there are many elderly people who do not have a roof to sleep under.Helping Eagles, a charitable organisation from Germany, came forward to help the elderly homeless. Why dont we encourage capable people within the society to empathize with our old and take care of them?I am sure this will encourage a more natural symbiotic relationship between the various age groups without institutionalization, and prevent segregation and isolation that civilization is forcing humans to do.If you have any information on any probable site preferably a proposed one, it'll be really helpful. Recently I have been working on proposals for my thesis on"Orphanage cum old age home".We already have sufficient stratification, segregation, and institutionalization in the society that we do not need to make more of the same. When you came of age you were taken to school which defined and shaped who you are.
I really want some help as to how to find proposed retirement housing or villages for my SITE.The other institutions that contributed to your being, perception and interpretation of the world are mosques/churches/shrines/temples, hospitals, prisons, orphanages you name them. You looked at and defined people as belonging to this or that institution. The villages nearby will have a symbiotic relation with these communities while they will provide the manpower required to serve here, they would get employment and other social benefits from the senior citizens like education..Apart from this I was thinking of putting an orphanage in the complex....again for mutual benefits. It is good to think in such terms about the elderly people, but as Architects we have a role to rebuild and strengthen societal fabric.Nyongesa, Hello, can you give me some information on the both location and architecture of the Starehe School in Kenya?I ask because recently There have been some articles in British newspapers and the school itself is being used as a model for better education in Britain. If any live projects are running in this topic share with me .. I am reminded of a recent Science Fiction book by the American author Elizabeth moon called "Remnant Population".The story is of an elder left behind when a space colony is evacuated and she becomes a foster grandmother to some alien young and becomes a vital link between humans and aliens. The office also came up as a type to take people away from nature and the family set up.Where are we taking our innate sense of community and communal living?
